Keeping on top of your social media accounts can be extremely time-consuming.  It takes so much longer than you think to create content and post it, and you can then waste hours on engagement. If you regularly nip in to check for comments then you can easily fall into the black hole of never-ending scrolling when you really should be doing other things!

What would be great is to automate creation of a checklist to promptly handle engagements so that you can keep track and respond without wasting hours on the time-suck which is social media.

Today, we show you how Zapier can be used to create a Trello checklist for Twitter engagements when you get a new follower.  This will create a Trello card with a checklist template which allows you to batch up the time needed for responding, and for members of your team to engage with your new follower in a consistent manner.  You can plan them for a slot when you have the time to reply properly rather than interrupting your day constantly with rushed messages.  You won’t miss any engagement opportunities, many of which could be valuable new leads!

The steps to create a Trello checklist of Twitter engagements are:

  • Create a trigger event when you get a new Twitter follower.
  • Create a card in Trello.
  • Add a checklist to the Trello card from a template.
  • As a bonus, we show you how to create a checklist template in Trello which you can use in this automation.

Other apps to use for social media engagements

Although our example uses Trello, you can also use Zapier to create tasks in other productivity apps such as ToDoist and Asana.

As well as Twitter, Zapier includes integrations with other social media platforms such as Facebook Pages, Facebook Groups, Instagram for Business, and even Pinterest.  This means you can create reminders to interact when you receive new Facebook recommendations, when something is posted in your Facebook group, when you’re tagged on Instagram or you gain a new Pinterest follower.
